BikeSocial’s recent review of the new BMW G 310 GS excited many, but there were a few that weren’t so impressed. “That’s not a proper adventure bike” and “waste of money” were typical of the minority.
But what is an adventure bike? And more importantly, what is an adventure? To some it might be a ride around the world, but to others it might simply being a trip to a new corner of the UK. Or even simply taking the bike out of their own county.
Nathan Millward has ridden around the world on his Honda CT105 postal bike, he’s toured Iceland on a BMW R1200GS and he runs Land’s End to John o’Groats tours – The Garbage Run – that promise an ‘adventure in your own back yard’.
