Bennetts, the motorcycle insurance specialist, has confirmed its 2023 Rider Confidence training days with five dates at three venues – Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Bedford Autodrome – available from just £89.
That price is for BikeSocial members, those who insure their bikes directly with Bennetts, though the non-member price is still just £99. One to one training takes place at each venue but not on the famous circuits, in the adjacent car parks instead.
Partnering with Shires Motorcycle Training, the course focuses on developing riders’ understanding of machine control, through a combination of ‘classroom’ theory sessions and practical exercises, the courses can benefit motorcyclists of all ages and abilities.

The course is designed to be beneficial to new, experienced, returning or ‘rusty’ riders, with owners of all types and capacity of machines welcome – from scooters to cruisers and everything in between. In essence you can run what you brung, but ride it better on the way home.
Highly experienced instructors closely review and guide riding technique during all the sessions, with the added use of earpieces. The sessions involve theory and practical exercises in a safe and controlled environment. The participants will be taught to improve specific skill areas, including emergency braking, hazard avoidance and slow speed control manoeuvres.
Choose from either a morning (08:45–12:30) or afternoon (13:15-17:00) group and you be guided through a range of theory and practical exercises in a controlled environment, that includes:
Patricia Stiemke, "If you’re looking for a good, short course, putting yourself and your skills under scrutiny with an aim to improve and boost your confidence, then this a good place to start. Compared to other rider training sessions I’ve attended, it’s good value for money, though what you get out of it will always depend on how open you are to learn more and challenge yourself."
Paul Oxborough, "I've ridden for over 30 years but learned so much from this course. If you're thinking about doing it, it's a really powerful day and there is so much that comes out of this session."
Bennetts Senior Marketing Manager and Rider Confidence Day Graduate, Marisa Sloper, commented “Since 2020 we’ve worked closely alongside the amazing team at Shires to bring this exclusive course to the next level. Part of our mission at Bennetts is to help riders get more from motorcycling and after personally completing the course, I strongly believe the quality of training that’s on offer is unrivalled.”
