Updates for 2023 Yamaha Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT

Yamaha has tweaked the Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT for 2023 to make some tempting bikes into even more appealing packages.

Both models get new, 5-inch colour TFT instruments along with a Communication Control Unit to give Bluetooth smartphone connectivity via the Yamaha MyRide app, plus updated bar controls to access the display’s functions. They also get larger, 298mm front brake discs – up from 282mm – and revised fork settings to improve handling.

The new instruments echo changes made to the 2023 MT-07, and like the naked bike the 2023 Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT’s displays have two styles – ‘Street’ or ‘Touring’, each with their own graphic style.

The smartphone app gives the usual functions, sharing notifications and info about incoming calls, emails or texts on the bike’s dash. The bike can also send info back to the phone – giving you access to details of any problems, as well as recording routes, distances ridden and data like acceleration, top speed and lean angle.

Like the 2023 MT-07, the updated Tracer 7 models are pre-wired for a quickshifter, making adding one a simple plug-and-play job, and they gain a USB port on the updated dash.

The 2023-spec Tracer 7 is due to reach dealers in February 2023, with the Tracer 7 GT following in May 2023. Prices are expected to be announced before the beginning of December.
