The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S has received an overhaul for 2023 with refreshed colour schemes, upgraded tech and more kit for the firm’s flagship model.
Based on the same running gear as the 1290 Super Duke and Super Duke GT, the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure-rivalling Super Adventure S blends elements of the two with the added versatility of the off-road performance.
For 2023, the Super Adventure S gets two new colour options - orange and black inspired by its MotoGP efforts and a more understated gray - plus a host of updated technology and improved kit levels.
Among the changes is an upgraded satellite navigation GPS system with its 7-inch TFT display, complete with re-designed infographics and menu options, plus Turn-by-Turn+ navigation guidance.
Under the skin, the 1290 Super Adventure S is equipped with a detuned version of the 1301cc unit as found in the sportier Super Duke, pumping out 160hp and 138Nm of torque, while the ‘ChroMo’ stainless steel chassis comes with tweaked geometry to accentuate cornering potential and stability, working with the specially designed WP semi-active suspension.
The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S also comes with Adaptive Cruise Control to alert riders to potential hazards around them.
The 1290 Super Adventure S is the latest updated release to come from KTM in recent weeks following the roll-out of the mid-capacity KTM 890 Adventure, plus the revival of the previously discontinued 790 Adventure which has rejoined the range for 2023.
